General Changes

ShopClock-3 uses two new versions of Microsofts SQL Server:

Use of these database servers provides many major advantages over the kind of database used previously:

ShopClock-3 uses Windows installer 3.1
Updates can be configured to occur in the middle night. You'll always be on the latest version - without having to constantly "Check our Website for Updates".

For greater reliablity, ShopClock-3 was developed with the latest tools and uses the .Net Framework 2.0
ShopClock-3 uses only "managed code" and will run on Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003 and Vista.

Changes to the Time Clock Window

Changes to this window were kept to a minium. There will be no need for your employees to learn a new system.

Expanded the Time Card Analysis so that it's easier to read.

Moved the Working/Not Working buttons from the actual employee list to a position above it.

ShopClock-3 can hide in the system tray (so that it doesn't take up room on the task bar) Just right click on the ShopClock-3 icon and select Show or Hide..

Additions to the Time Clock Window

Added a Filter Box to the employee list. Typing a few characters in the filter box shrinks the employee list to those names matching the characters typed. This greatly increases the number of employees ShopClock can support.

Limited Access. For companies where each employee has his/her own computer and wants to clock in and out only on that computer, the administartor can limit any shopclock-3client to a particular employee.


Changes to the Administration Tasks

 

All admin tasks have been moved from the time clock window to a new Admin Window. The first benifit is that you only need to enter the admin password once to access all of the admin tasks.

 

The Admin tasks have be grouped togather - no need to swithc back and forth between windows set all the variables affecting any particular task.

 

The PayPeriod Processing report has been broken into its componets: printing, exporting, and closing the pay period. You can now export or close without printing another report.

 

Pay Period can be processed for single employees

 

You can now quickly examine, edit, and reprint any closed pay period for any employee - without having to reopen the entire pay perod and then close it again.

 

New Admin Features Include

 

Paid Time Off and Salary have been added to Vacation, Sick, Bereavement (Grief), and Holiday managed time categories. you can use any or all of them as you wish.

Holidays can be dispensed to all employees with a single click.

A new wizard has been developed to help accure managed time
.

An Automatic Clock Out option (used when employees forget to clock out) is available.
