There are a great many things about this new version I would like to tell you, but I'll only mention a few of the most important now.

• ShopClock-3 is part of your subscription - there is no extra charge of any kind.
• It can be installed along side of earlier ShopClock versions on the same computer with no problems - do not uninstall your current version prior to installing ShopClock3 (untill after you have imported the data from ShopClock 2)
• Data from the prior ShopClock versions can be imported into ShopClock-3.

Installation Instructions

ShopClock-3 works on Windows 2003 Server, XP, and Vista. You will not be able to install it on Windows 95,98,98s,Me, or NT4.

Download sc3Setup.exe and save it to your desktop, close your browser - but do not break your internet connection (it may need to download more files from the internet while it is installing), then double click on sc3Setup.exe to install ShopClock-3

Installation Notes:

ShopClock-3 requires Microsoft's .Net Framework 2, and windows installer 3.1. These are not bundled in sc3Setup.exe because there is a good chance that they are already installed on your computer and you don't need to download and install them again. If they are not already installed on your computer the installation program will download and install them before continuing to install ShopClock-3.

You will no longer need to go to our web site and check for the current version. ShopClock-3 updates can be downloaded and install automatically in the middle of the night just like Windows updates. After installing ShopClock-3 you should configure how your computer will download and install updates by clicking on Start/All Programs/ShopClock-3/Setup Automatic Updates. During the beta test period this should be done very frequently (every night).

ShopClock-3 can be configured to use either of two SQL Servers:

• The Microsoft SQl Server Compact Edition, which is a downloaded and installed along with each copy ShopClock-3. This is a "local " database and cannot be used over a network.
• The Microsoft SQL Express Edition, which is a network server. To use ShopClock-3 on more than one computer you must install the Sql Express edition on the computer you want to use as a server

Start with ShopClock-3 in the local mode. While in this mode you can import the old shopclock data via the Network Setup taskof the ShopClock-3's Admin Window. After you've played with it for a while follow the instructions on the Network Setup task to download, install and begin using the network database. You will need to download and install ShopClock-3 on each of the computers you want to use it on.
